MISSION STATEMENT 

  • Purpose

  1. Advise – the Leader’s Group how to navigate spiritually through issues of race that affect our church and to communicate the needs of our members in this area.

  2. Assist – in meeting those needs through things like education and training of our small group leaders and members

  • Role    

  1. Listen – to our members            o    

  2. Educate – ourselves first, and then others

  3. Discuss – among the team in order to learn from each other

  4. Unite – the team in order to model

  5. Reproduce – the forged unity of the team in our church

  • Qualifications

  1. Spiritual (Acts 6:3)

  2. Wise (Acts 6:3)

  3. Diverse (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)

  4. Temperate (1 Timothy 3:11; Titus 2:2; Proverbs 29:11)

  5. Communicators (Ephesians 4:15; 1 Timothy 4:12)

  • Expectations

  1. God’s Word – is the standard for everything 

  2. Prayer – and reliance on God

  3. Spiritually Minded – no personal or political agendas

  4. Team player – work together and be solution-oriented

  5. A Safe Place – for all

  • Commitment

  1. One year minimum; two-year terms

  2. Meet at least monthly for the first 6 months

  3. Leader’s Group selects future members as needed
